The chapter also emphasizes the importance of looking at project lifecycles, and the ENTIRE project to the extent possible, as well as the roles of a project manager. Chapter 2 helps you define WHAT must be done by clarifying the scope and breakdown of project work to be accomplished. Chapter 3 describes the process for estimating project duration, and specifies WHEN project work will be accomplished. Chapter 4 helps you identify project risks and create contingency plans, often building on project assumptions. Chapter 5 explains the steps in estimating project cost and creating the project budget. The chapter answers the question: HOW MUCH will the project cost? Chapter 6 shows you how to control scope, quality, schedule, and cost as project work is being accomplished, and key consideration in closing your projects.
