Pivoting your offering: How one founder shifted from global tourism to virtual cooking classes

The Table Less Traveled is a boutique, small-group tourism company, which has offered culinary-centric tours to many amazing destinations over the past 5 years. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, their thoughtfully curated tours and experiences became irrelevant as travel halted with no definitive end in sight. A pivot was a necessity in order to keep the team employed and support their international small business partners, all while sticking to their mission to form connections through shared experiences. We'll speak to the Founder & CEO about how she ultimately came to the decision to pivot, and what tactics were employed to make the operational changes to shift from tourism to virtual cooking classes.

About Annie Cheng, CEO + Founder, The Table Less Traveled

With culinary exploration at the heart of their travel experiences, Annie labels herself the CEO — Chief Eating Officer — of The Table Less Traveled. In founding the company, she paired a love of travel & food with professional experience in project management to create unique, worry-free, and relationship-based travel experiences for eager explorers. After adding the virtual & interactive cooking classes to the company offerings, Annie can now also call herself a technology specialist in helping bring chefs from around the world straight into her clients' kitchens!
