The Urban Wild is an agricultural technology organization in Brooklyn, providing career training for urban youth to enter the green tech workforce. We created an environmental sensor system called Plot Bot which allows urban farmers to monitor the health of their greenhouses on a user-friendly mobile interface and with accessible materials like arduinos.

During this workshop we will be reviewing the inner workings of this sensor system and discussing the impact it has on farms in New York and the potential impact it can have on water scarce communities abroad. Integrative Technology solutions like these help increase the ability to create scalable solutions for global issues and we hope to use it as a tool for education and empowerment.

MISSION
The Urban Wild is an organization dedicated to making sustainable agricultural technology more accessible to areas affected by food scarcity. We believe we can educate, empower, and ultimately, uplift vulnerable communities out of food insecure states.

VISION
Through educational program, workforce development pipelines and talent matching services, we can help foster the next generation of urban farmers who will use sustainable agricultural technology to empower their communities.
