Queens StartUP! Business Plan Competition

You can win $10,000 for your startup by entering the StartUP! Business Plan Competition, sponsored by the Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC). Requirements: Participants must be Queens residents and start their businesses in Queens. Start-ups are considered businesses with less than $20,000 in revenue, and can be in idea phase or already in existence. Business Plans Are Due: March 1, 2015 QEDC is a nonprofit governed by a board of directors representing the borough's many community and business sectors. It is funded by the New York City Department of Small Business Services, the New York State Department of Economic Development and the Small Business Administration in addition to generous support from New York City Council elected officials and the private sector. QEDC is a focal point for economic development efforts in a borough that encompasses about 2.3 million people from every corner of the world in more than 90 distinct neighborhoods. Emphasis is made to assist low and moderate income populations, women, immigrants and minorities.
