Digital.NYC Selects City’s Top Tech and Startup Events for Q1 2017

 

Copyright & Technology NYC 2017, Social Media Week New York, and Millennial 20/20 Summit are selected as the city’s top events in the first quarter of the year

Digital.NYC, the official online hub of the New York City startup and technology ecosystem, today announced its selection of the best tech and startup events taking place in Q1 2017. Copyright & Technology NYC 2017 in January, Social Media Week New York beginning in February, and Millennial 20/20 Summit in March are recognized as the monthly Spotlight Events. In addition to celebrating these top events and providing an inside look, Digital.NYC will give away event tickets or similar prizes to the community for participating events.

January Spotlight Event: Copyright and Technology NYC 2017 | January 24, 2017

Copyright and Technology NYC 2017 returns for its eighth year to the Kimmel Center at New York University. The annual all-day conference focuses on how technology influences and shapes copyright in the digital age. The forum brings together a mix of technologists, attorneys, media industry people, and public policy decision makers to engage in intelligent dialogue over rising topics related to copyright and technology.

This year attendees will be treated to a keynote address from Michael Smith and Rahul Telang of Carnegie-Mellon University and authors of Streaming, Sharing, Stealing: Big Data and the Future of Entertainment. Panel topics will cover issues ranging from blockchain technology, transparency in music transaction processing, digital rights management in book publishing, copyright affect on virtual and augmented reality, and more.

February Spotlight Event: Social Media Week New York | February 27 - March 2, 2017

Social Media Week New York is the premiere digital media conference in the United States bringing together industry leaders and top brands at the intersection of entertainment, media, marketing, and technology. Attendees include Facebook, The New York Times, National Geographic, Warby Parker, Comedy Central, Google, GE, Spotify, and LinkedIn.

This year Crowdcentric, the global organizer of SMW, is focusing on new content experiences and providing attendees with new ideas, insights, and best practices in media and technology. The event is also being hosted for the first time at The Times Center, which will feature a large main stage and optimal opportunities for networking and collaboration throughout the space. March Spotlight Event: Millennial 20/20 Summit| March 1 - 2, 2017

The Millennial 20/20 Summit brings a unique discussion on how both large and small businesses are wrestling with an increasingly more informed and complex consumer, requiring companies to keep innovation, disruption, and technology as key components of their business development. The conference looks at successful and innovative ways that companies are responding to consumer trends in how they shop, interact with brands, consume content, and make payments.

This year’s conference will deliver an added focus on key pillars including retail, marketing, mobile, payments, video, social, e-commerce, CRM, advertising, and big data.
