These days, it's no surprise when big-name retailers close up shop. E-commerce trends have exposed the folly of elaborate floor plans and the massive real estate of clothing stores.
However, there are exceptions.
This week high-end retailer Nordstrom will cut the ribbon on its first full-line store in Manhattan.
Bucking the downsizing trend that has been affecting so many apparel stores, the Seattle-based company is debuting a specialized, three-floor shop dedicated solely to men's clothes. Offerings will also include more than a dozen tailors, shoes, 24-hour pickup and grooming supplies.
The new Nordstrom outlet will be based in Midtown Manhattan at 57th Street and Broadway.
