NYC Open Data Week 2019 - Final Call for session ideas and event submissions!

Open Data Week is organized and produced by the NYC Open Data Program and BetaNYC. This week-long event series takes place during the first week of March to celebrate New York City’s Open Data Law, which was signed into law on March 7, 2012. The goal of Open Data Week 2019 is to raise awareness about NYC Open Data, a free data resource: www.nyc.gov/opendata

Open Data Week 2018 (www.open-data.nyc) brought 1800 New Yorkers to 30+ events across 4 boroughs. We were excited by the accomplishments of the open data, tech and civic tech communities and are looking forward to seeing what Open Data Week 2019 will bring.

NYC School of Data (www.schoolofdata.nyc) is a day-long conference about the intersection of community, open data, open government & open source technologies and serves as the annual kickoff to Open Data Week on Saturday March 2nd, which is also International Open Data Day 2019. School of Data is looking for speakers and session organizers - a great way to get involved in Open Data Week 2019 if you are looking for support with a venue and other logistical details for your event concept.

The deadline for Open Data Week 2019 (and School of Data!) submissions is Friday January 4, 2019. Submitters will be notified by January 11, 2019 of their acceptance as an Open Data Week 2019 and/or School of Data event. Feel free to submit more than one idea! We hope to see creative submissions: A virtual reality experience? An art installation? Training community members? All ideas are welcome!
