Quarterly Events Preview Q1 2017: March Spotlight Event - Millennial 20/20 New York

Millennial 20/20 New York Summit, March 1 - 2 at Center 415, 415 Fifth Avenue, New York City

Recently, Digital.NYC’s editor, Marcos Dinnerstein, spoke with Rupa Ganatra, the Founding Partner at Millennial 20/20 to learn what people can expect from the world’s first summit focused on the millennial mindset and its impact on the future of commerce.

How did you arrive at the name of the conference?

As the world’s first summit dedicated to bringing understanding of the Millennial mindset and its impact throughout the consumer marketplace, Millennial 20/20 seemed like a relevant name for this summit.

Please give us an overview of this year’s event and what theme you might have in store.

The event in New York on March 1-2, 2017 is programmed for an audience of brands, retailers and start-ups and will feature lively discussions on the future of commerce, marketing and innovation across industry sectors. The event will also feature 3 conference stages, 8 conference tracks, over 60 exhibitors, 200 speakers and 4,000 delegates. Given the summits focus on the impact of technology, digital and the rise of the internet of beings, the event themes focus on the future of commerce, marketing and innovation across industry sectors.

The preliminary agenda which will bring to life over 70 curated stories and sessions which have been created for the Summit, can be seen here.

How many attendees do you generally receive? Where do they come from? What sectors?

Our first two summits in Singapore and London sold out, and we expect the New York event to do the same! Attendees, who come from all over the world, include brands and retailers from the following sectors; Travel & Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Fashion & Beauty, Sport, Media, Fitness & Health, as well as direct-to-consumer start-ups and retail, marketing and data tech start-ups.

What can attendees walk away with or how will this event change the conversation around tech and social media in particular?

Attendees can expect to walk away with the insights needed to success in the fast-evolving business environment from thought leaders and game changers from both emerging and established brands and retailers- along with companies from startup to Fortune 500, including Accenture, Oculus VR, Glossier, Moleskine, The Economist and many more.

What is the panel or speaker you are most excited about and why?   With such an amazing line-up of speakers from so many industries and sectors, it’s hard to pick only one panel or speaker I’m the most excited about.

What sets this conference apart from other tech conferences? Millennials are changing the way we do business and until now, no conference has focused on this facet. Today, over half of new businesses are being started by millennials. The generation is well-educated, entrepreneurial and digitally-savvy, and they thrive working in fast-paced business environments, solving existing challenges and creating new business models. Whether brands are looking at millennials as a consumer or as an employee, the conference highlights why they cannot ignore the changing behaviors that are impacting every aspect of business.

Are there any new components or features that attendees should look forward to this year?   Attendees should look forward to series of immersive showcases from brands such as Accenture, Forbes, Moleskine, Time Out, The Economist, What3Words and many more. For example, our title sponsor, Accenture, will host a series of immersive showcases including “Creating the Living Experience,” which uses artificial intelligence to offer a visualization of the real experience today’s millennial consumer is looking for.

Is there a way for non-attendees to follow the conversation? Twitter handle? Live feed?  Non-attendees can join the conversation by following us on our social channels, including our Twitter and Instagram channels as well as the hashtag #M2020. Following the event, attendees can always turn to our YouTube channel to find a selection of videos (and a little inspiration!) from the event.
