Coworking Company Launches New Program to Provide Affordable Membership to Close 2018

Coworking space, The Yard, will be offering any new member the opportunity to optimize the rest of 2018 by taking of advantage of paying only $20.18 for office space through the rest of 2018. New members will only pay $20.18/desk/month through December 31, 2018 with a 1-year commitment after signing up by October 1, 2018.

“Our members value the community, design and personalized service we offer, and our pricing has always reflected that,” said Morris Levy, CEO and co-founder of The Yard. “However, other players in the coworking industry are prioritizing price over helping businesses choose their optimal workspace and community. Entrepreneurs now have an unbeatable opportunity to join The Yard and understand why members choose us for years, not just months.”

Established in 2011, The Yard’s locations in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington, D.C. support thousands of entrepreneurs’ businesses. The Yard provides a refined workspace experience with networking opportunities, valuable business resources, and a unique community, culture, and design for sophisticated professionals. Members are innovators in their fields, which include architecture, real estate, technology, marketing, advertising, design, art, publishing, finance, film and culture, among others.

New Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) financial reporting standards come into effect at the end of 2018 for public companies and at the end of 2019 for private companies. These new regulations require businesses to recognize assets and liabilities on a balance sheet for leases greater than 12 months in the amount of the full term value of the lease. This change, which will apply to both financial and operating leases, could add millions of dollars in assets and liabilities to businesses’ balance sheets that were previously not recorded.

“The Yard’s members will be able to avoid the potentially negative impact of the new FASB reporting standards through their flexible, month-to-month membership agreements,” added Levy. “With our member teams ranging from solo entrepreneurs to companies with more than 200 employees, we expect to see a continued interest in more amenable solutions to long-term leases that could negatively impact a business’s investment prospects.”For those currently in a lease of more than one year or considering their next space, now is the perfect time to find a flexible membership agreement for the remainder of 2018 and beyond to avoid a potential impact on their business.
