Overview

Kinvolved galvanizes students, parents, teachers, leaders, and community stakeholders around a shared goal: To increase student achievement by minimizing absenteeism. We take a holistic approach to fighting chronic absenteeism, combining technology tools and human interventions to change the deeply ingrained behaviors and external factors affecting student attendance.

Miriam Altman

A former teacher, Miriam leads Kinvolved’s strategic planning and execution, business development and sales, fundraising and grants management, and investor and external relations. Miriam is co-leader of the Attendance Subcommittee for South Bronx Rising Together and a mentor for the Social Innovation Initiative and Women's Launch Pad at Brown University. She holds an MPA from NYU's Wagner School and a MA, Ed., from Lehman College.

Alexandra Meis

Alexandra manages Kinvolved’s growth on the ground, bringing to her work empathy for families and end users. As an AmeriCorps VISTA member, she served communities in the South Bronx, educating and advocating for families of children with special needs. She is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community and mentors entrepreneurs in NYU's Accelerator Program. She holds a MPA in Health Policy & Analysis from NYU's Wagner School.
