Overview

Our product is clean energy, specifically electricity from resources that are sustainable and compliant with various state renewable portfolio standards. Our focus is biomass power such as wood chips and agricultural waste. Power is sold to utilities via long term contracts. We generate superior equity returns by using existing power assets, such as mothballed power plants, and convert them into modern, RPS compliant generation facilities.

Michael Bartoszek

Founded Laidlaw Energy predecessor in 1999 that owned and operated natural gas fired generation assets and related entities. In 2003 he sold his natural gas holdings and began focusing exclusively on renewable energy. Mr. Bartoszek lead the team that successfully developed one of the largest biomass power plants in the US. Prior to founding Laidlaw Energy he spent over 10 years in the securities industry with a number of top investment firms.

Louis Bravakis

EVP of Development - For the past 10 years Mr. Bravakis has been involved as a developer and project manager for numerous successful biomass energy projects throughout the Northeast. Prior to that he was the founder/president of a company that manufactured and installed over 100 biomass gasification systems. He has over 30 years experience in the biomass energy field. Worked with Mr. Bartoszek on 75 MW biomass project located in Northern, NH.

Vice President - Project Analyst

Alex Bravakis

Associate Vice President of Project Development for Laidlaw Energy Group, Inc. Mr. Bravakis takes the lead on identifying and analyzing new development opportunities. He also manages and coordinates the involvement of all project contributors. Before joining Laidlaw Mr. Bravakis worked in a real estate investment firm that specialized in the development and financing of affordable housing projects throughout New York City’s five boroughs.

Project Manager

Gregory Blair

Over 30 years experience in the financing, development and management of large-scale energy projects. Mr. Blair has established an impressive track record as a problem solver and turnaround specialist through his work at National Public Energy, Inc. (“NPE”), which he founded in 1990. From 1991 to present, NPE has managed Biomass One L.P., a 30MW (net) biomass energy project with over $60 million in assets and $24 million in annual revenues.

Construction Manager

Larry Persinger

Larry Persinger has over 40 years experience in the construction industry in the commercial and industrial arenas. He has worked in both field and office capacities ranging from project engineering to project management to corporate officer. Larry has been president of one of the 50 largest general contractors in the country and Sr. Vice President of one of the largest electrical contractors in the U.S.
