The Startup Station presents: INTRODUCTION TO INITIAL COIN OFFERINGS (ICOs)

No prior finance experience is necessary. Powerpoint materials are provided after class.

What is the ICO? ICO Landscape. Blockchain Basics: 6:15 pm - 6:45 pm

Protocol and app tokens with examples. Smart contracts. Brief overview of legal issues surrounding ICOs: 6:45 - 7:15

Break: 7:15 - 7:30

IPO vs. ICO vs. traditional equity raise. The Concept of Money and what makes a digital token Money? 7:30 - 7:50

How to launch an ICO and how much does it cost? How do investors make money? How to value it? 7:50 - 8:15

Billions of dollars have been raised via ICOs in the past year, so what exactly is it? How exactly does it work? How can a company issue its own currency? Why would it have any value? How can it be money immediately after issuance? How is this method of fundraising different from a traditional equity raise and an IPO?

This will class give a comprehensive overview of all these issues and a roadmap for how to issue your own ICO and how to determine if this is the right vehicle for you.

Founder of the Startup Station Meetup

Victoria Yampolsky, CFA, is the President of the Startup Station,a finance & strategy consultancy for early stage startups that focuses on formulating monetization strategies, financial modeling & valuation. She is also Managing Partner of Strategic Business Alliance, a business development consultancy assisting foreign companies with U.S. market entry. She is an advisor to Jotteq, Opkix, and Stringflix, as well as founder of several ventures in media & entertainment. Previously, Victoria worked in Deutsche Bank Research and did IT consulting for CapGemini's Financial Services Division. Victoria holds a Bachelor's Degree, Cum Laude, in Computer Science, with minor in Mathematics, from Cornell University and an MBA, with honors, from Columbia Business School. Victoria is also on the Advisory Board of the CIS Department of Cornell University.

Payment for the Workshop will be required at the point of registration.
