This is for every startup founder who understands the value in creating an organization that values diversity, equity and belonging but is looking for actionable steps to ensure this critical, strategic component of the business isn't given short shrift. Multiple large organizations have landed in hot water in the last few years around equity issues. The issues range from pay equity to employee experience to the makeup of the exec team and board. The challenge, often, is that these organizations are so large that progress is slow. On the other end of the spectrum, startup founders are often moving so quickly that issues surrounding equity aren’t always top of mind. You’re trying to scale and attract and retain talent that have lots of other options in the current labor market. But, here’s the rub. By the time you scale and are ready to address these issues, you’re now the large ship that’s harder to turn. Small, intentional changes now can help your business scale with equity as a central component rather than a future challenge to be solved once you hit critical mass. Lydia Frank will lead a workshop about what those changes look like and how you can start implementing them. *Lunch will be provided by WeWork Labs*
