Quarterly Events Preview Q3 2016: July Spotlight Event - 2016 New York Venture Summit

Recently, Digital.NYC’s editor, Marcos Dinnerstein, caught up with Joe Benjamin, Founder and CEO of youngStartup Ventures, organizer of the 2016 New York Venture Summit to learn what people can expect from this year's event.

How many attendees do you generally receive? Where do they come from? What sectors?

We expect over 600 attendees from all over the country and overseas as well. They come from a range of sectors, including pure tech, life sciences, cleantech and edtech.

What can attendees walk away with or how will this event change the conversation around tech?

Early stage and emerging companies will have an opportunity to gain insight as to relevant and timely topics that pertain to raising funding as well as to connect with active investors. VCs, Corporate VCs and angels will have an opportunity to hear presentations by cutting edge innovators and connect with fellow investors.

What is the panel or speaker you are most excited about and why?

All of the panels but mainly THE FUTURE: WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE VENTURE INDUSTRY? It’s our kickoff panel and we expect attendees to gain valuable insights from our panelists.

Are there any new components or features that attendees should look forward to this year?

We’ve added a 5th presentation track this year, called Seed Pitchfest which will feature presentations by companies seeking angel funding.

Is there a way for non-attendees to follow the conversation?

Yes, follow #newyorkventuresummit on Twitter.
