The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, New York and Digital House of Innovation, Epicenter launch professional platform in the heart of New York City

This summer, The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, New York (SACCNY) and Epicenter enter a long-term collaboration with the launch of Gateway x Epicenter. Gateway will be a unique innovation platform and venue for Swedish and American scaleups and global corporations in New York.

Since its founding in 1906, SACCNY has been an important actor for Swedish companies seeking to expand into the U.S. market. In recent years, the demand for a place where Swedish professionals and entrepreneurs operating in the U.S. can meet and collaborate has increased significantly. Thus, the Gateway initiative was developed with the purpose to create opportunities for Swedish and American companies to meet, grow and initiate mutually beneficial partnerships.

Gateway will be a professional community where companies and entrepreneurs are able to share knowledge, experience, and expertise on how to succeed in the U.S. market. The Chamber has a widespread network of members, including many multinational corporations. For the MNCs, Gateway will be a “home-away-from-home” and offer an opportunity to interact with innovative entrepreneurs and scaleups.

Gateway is a joint initiative between SACCNY and Epicenter, one of Europe’s leading innovation houses. Headquartered in Stockholm, Epicenter brings together businesses and entrepreneurs to meet collaborate, learn and grow their businesses. The innovation house has rapidly gained a reputation for creating corporate leaders and drivers of innovation.

In addition to the state-of-the-art office-, conference- and event facilities, Gateway will offer a range of services including innovation labs, business matchmaking, acceleration programs, workshops, crash courses and master classes in corporate innovation.

Anna Throne-Holst, President of SACCNY, is enthusiastic to embark on this journey together with Epicenter and states: “The purpose of the platform is to create opportunities for Swedish and American companies to collaborate, innovate and grow their businesses. It will also offer U.S. corporations the possibility to connect with some of Sweden’s most innovative companies. Epicenter is an invaluable partner in realizing these ambitions.”

Patrick Mesterton, Co-Founder and CEO of Epicenter, is equally excited about the collaboration with SACCNY and firmly believes that the platform will benefit Epicenter’s current members. Mesterton comments: “The partnership with SACCNY provides our members with a profound opportunity to expand and develop. The U.S. East Coast, particularly New York, is catching up with Silicon Valley as a global Tech-Hub. Through the establishment of Gateway, Epicenter’s members will gain access to a creative arena for digital innovation and plenty of synergies to create new and exciting business opportunities in the U.S.”
