VCs Four Times More Likely To Fund All-Male Startups Than Those With Even One Woman Leader

In 2015, venture firm First Round Capital decided to crunch some numbers to understand the gender dynamics at play in its own portfolio -- by then, 300 companies strong, with just over a decade in business.

What First Round found: startups with at least one woman on the founding team performed 63% better than those with all-male leadership. Of its ten best investments by value at the time, three -- Birchbox, Ringly, and Wanelo -- were founded by women.
