Overview
The stress response begins in the brain (see illustration). When someone confronts an oncoming car or other threat, the eyes or ears (or both) send the information into the amygdala, an area of the brain which contributes to psychological processing. 應激反應 The amygdala interprets the sounds and images. If it perceives threat, it instantly sends a distress signal to the hypothalamus.
