NYU Tandon doubles its campus with opening of renovated building

The Center for Urban Science & Progress moved into the first two floors of 370 Jay St. this week.

The first floors of NYU Tandon School of Engineering’s massive new building at 370 Jay St. in Downtown Brooklyn are now occupied, as the Center for Urban Science & Progress (CUSP) moved in this week.

The more than 500,000-square-foot building will effectively double the footprint of NYU Tandon’s Downtown Brooklyn campus. Formerly the headquarters of the Metropolitan Transit Authority, 370 Jay St. will now be home to urban planners, engineers, video game developers, startups and computer scientists connected with the university.
